Rebecca Crandall’s passion for craft beverages is only matched by her passion for helping brewers protect their brands. As the only Board Certified Trademark Specialist in Western North Carolina, she focuses her problem solving skills on helping clients around the country from the early stages of brand selection through clearance, registration, defense, and enforcement, utilizing in depth knowledge of the more complex aspects of trademark law that are often crucial to success. She also assists a wide variety of craft beverage manufacturers with permitting, regulatory, and distribution concerns and, as a registered patent attorney, in the consideration and pursuit of patent protection as well. In addition to practicing at McGuire, Wood & Bissette, P.A., in Asheville, Ms. Crandall teaches brewery law at the Craft Beverage Institute of the Southeast. She is admitted to the practice of law in the State of North Carolina and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina, the 4th Circuit, Federal Circuit and the District of Colorado. Ms. Crandall earned her B.S. degree in computer science and her B.A. degree in politics, both with honors, from Converse College and her J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
