Originally hailing from New England, beverage guru Greg Best has been plying his craft for the past several years in Atlanta, where he is oft credited for igniting the cocktail movement. During his tenure as founding partner at Atlanta’s Holeman and Finch Public House, Best earned numerous accolades including two consecutive nominations as a James Beard Awards Outstanding Bar Program semifinalist and finalist respectively. A relentless barman at heart, Best’s innovative cocktail recipes can be found internationally in many prominent publications as well as on multiple cross-media platforms. In an Atlanta TEDxTALK, Best stepped out from behind the bar to deliver a rousing dissertation on “The Role of a Social Chemist,” identifying his craft as one that goes far beyond serving drinks. Currently, Best spends most of his time with his partners teaching the next generation of barkeeps at their highly acclaimed Ticonderoga Club in Atlanta’s Inman Park district.
