Rob Crabtree is a former coastal engineer, who successfully engineered a career change to pursue his passion for food and beverage. He has worked behind multiple bars over the years, as well as designed and opened numerous bars and restaurants. In 2013, Rob opened the first mezcal bar in Oklahoma and also became a certified Master of Mezcal by the Mexican government. Rob was one of the opening bartenders at Half Step in Austin, TX, and trained under the late, great Sasha Petraske in 2014. As the Beverage Director for Goode Company Restaurants in Houston, TX, Rob developed the beverage programs for all of ten of the concepts spanning: Texas BBQ; Gulf Coast seafood; border style Mexican; Texas Honky Tonk; and agave-centric Tex-Mex bar and restaurant. In 2017, Rob returned home to St. Augustine, FL with his partner, Whitney Hobbs to develop and open a tropical bar in historic St. Augustine, slated for a Spring 2019 opening.
