The Hawthorne Bottle Shop & Tasting Room

Jill has enjoyed over 16 years as a Sommelier and Beverage Director in New York City. She worked for prestigious restaurants such as Eleven Madison Park, The Modern, and at Top Chef Harold Dieterle’s West Village restaurant, The Marrow. Her journey in between has taken her to many different corners of the industry as a wine professional. To highlight a few, she was the Wine Director and Sommelier at The Harrison Restaurant, Portfolio Manager for P.J. Valckenberg German Wines, and for 5 years, Jill was the On Premise Manager and Hotel Specialist for Moet Hennessy USA. New York Times reviewer Pete Wells said that her wine list at The Marrow “is really worth jumping up and down about.” She has had the honor of being a repeated guest on the New York Times tasting panel “Wines of the Time” with Eric Asimov. Jill is thrilled to be back to her home town of Helena, Montana and the happy Owner of The Hawthorn Bottle Shop and Tasting Room. Her wine bar and shop have been featured in Food & Wine Magazine and Wine & Spirits Magazine. The Hawthorn has been named "Best Wine Bar" and "Best Bar" in Montana as well as being featured in the 10 "Most Beautiful Restaurants In All Of Montana". When Jill is not slinging wine, she is running the Helena hills, adventuring with her husband Mike, and enjoying time with her inspiring and remarkable Helena family. She is a certified Sommelier with the American Sommelier Association.
