Banshee Wines, AVERÆN Wines, Valkyrie Selections


Baron began loving fine-wine at the age of 15 when he started buying Bordeaux futures with his summer earnings. At the age of 18, while studying medicine at Boston University, he began in wine retail working for Joshua Wesson at Best Cellars, eventually managing two retail wine locations and buying for 3 stores. At the age of 22 he was recruited by famed importer Eric Solomon to manage a 10 State territory for his wine import company, where Baron worked for the next 10 years, first as regional manager in New England, then the South East, and eventually as National Sales Director. Baron then co-founded a small California brand called Banshee Wines in 2010, a negotiant brand called RICKSHAW in 2011, and Valkyrie Selections, an import company focusing on wines from Spain, France, and now England, in 2011. In 2014 he began AVERÆN Wines in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, and currently acts as CEO of of the various brands. In the beginning of this year, Baron formed a strategic partnership with Foley Family Wines for the Banshee and RICKSHAW brands.
